About Us

Burdens Drug Center has been blessed in serving the Jamestown community since 1945, and is under the current ownership of Linda Conatser.

Linda Conatser has an extensive medical background in both experience and education. Linda graduated from York Institute and Martin Junior College before she started working at Burdens as a pharmacy student. During her first years of service at Burdens, she attended the University of Tennessee's College of Pharmacy (Pulaski) and obtained her 4-year degree.

From 1982-1986, Linda worked at another pharmacy, but realized in 1990 she needed more interaction with the people around her. So she purchased Burdens in 1990 in addition to three flower shops, and ever since then has taken great pride in our growing business. In March 2004, as a result of our growth, we moved into our new facility which accommodates a more appealing pharmacy, gift shop, and flower shop!

Today, Linda is happy to offer her customers more improved services, and just recently opened a drive-thru window service for added convenience. Business is growing more than ever, and with it comes many challenges and new faces. Linda is more than happy to see it that way.

A Survivor

In the Autumn of 2003, Linda Conatser was diagnosed with cancer, and underwent radiation treatments at the Cookeville Cancer Center. During this event, Linda experienced a sudden change in outlook on her life, and thought she needed to start living it by enjoying the company of family and friends, have fun, and live spiritually more often than she had been. She also began to support the community more than she had ever done before, and has attended such events as awareness meetings at Jamestown Hospital, and highschool leadership groups.

Today she continues to spread her word on how to take good care of yourself, and understanding terrible diseases including cancer, diabetes, and alzheimers.
